The many products that are manufactured or made in factories or plants can be templated. The templates can range from molds to those pre cast or pre designed items that will shape the products. These are made from many materials, mostly metals, but these days these are further diversified into alloys, composites and synthetics.

Synthetics of course have been around a long time, but metals have been in use far longer. Machining firms or shops often have a set of basic equipment that is related to what they turn out. The stamp is a die and cast style of ensemble, but the die itself is attached to the press. The press shapes out any item from basic metal sheets, pipes and blocks that are mostly near size to what are needed. It works better for hard objects that still have some small factor for malleability, since it will pressure stuff for shaping into.

Stamping can produce many things, from kitchen utensils to toys to engine parts, all of which are useful in human activities.

Stamping is also used for electronics but in smaller ways for miniaturization. The techniques here have been vastly improved by digital technology and other techniques that were specifically developed for the process. What you get are products which are well shaped, seamless and durable, mostly affordable for any consumer demand.

For many manufacturers the process and the machines form an essential support. For those who are specifically in the trade of stamping out items, the work they do goes on and on. And this will be so as long as there is need for shaping objects that are working parts of machinery or productions processes vital to mankind.

Products which have been produced through this process are so numerous. Many are out of production, some were later found as defective, but all will have been used and sold commercially through machining history. Stamping processes are also convertible for green use, and many now can be run with alternative energy and use less risky chemicals for their processes.
