Routine Practices Used In Plant Health Care MT

By Susan Johnson

It is always advisable to take care of the plant conditions on the farm to maintain good health. There should be regular checkups so as to achieve this objective. The environment in where they have been cultivated should be conducive for good results. Therefore, there should be provision of good hygienic conditions and carry out sustainable farming. This will increase the quality of the produce in the long run. Some of the practices used in plant health care MT are discussed below.

The first practice is controlling pests on the farm. This involves using insecticides to kill harmful insects in the garden. The seeds used during propagation should also be free from attack. Other methods of ensuring the crops are healthy also include; using tolerant and resistant varieties, crop rotation and also keeping beds clean. In a situation where they are not controlled, they cause negative effects to the plants.

Soil fertility management is also an important practice. Compost manure should be used to increase the nutrient level in the soil. This will improve the health of the crops. Mulching can also be done to suppress the growth of unwanted vegetation, maintain soil moisture and control erosion. By boosting the mineral composition of the soil, the plants will be of good health. They will also be able to resist attack from pest and diseases.

Another practice is weed control on the farm. These unwanted crops on the farm cause a lot of problems in the garden. They compete for nutrients, making the main produce lack the necessary elements thus becoming weak. They also act as hosts for harmful pathogens which degrade the quality of those which have been planted. They should therefore be removed regularly so as to ensure growth of healthy plants.

Furthermore, watering must be done in the dry areas and during dry seasons. This is a very crucial element during growth. It should preferably be done in the morning and late in the evening for effectiveness. This increases the quality of produce. The plant will appear healthy. The leaves will be large and of high quality.

Also, there must be good supply of air. This will minimize chances of disease attack. The plants in this case may end up being stunted because of less carbon dioxide flow. The condition can be controlled by pruning excess branches or uprooting overcrowded plants. The location where cultivation is done should also have an adequate supply of air.

Moreover, there should be disease management practices. The affected vegetation in this case is usually weakened and wilt off. The mess can be corrected through various ways which include; removing and destroying the diseased stems. This will prevent the spread of this menace. Chemicals can also be used to kill the pathogens responsible for the condition. This will help in controlling unhealthy growth.

Finally, must be exposed to adequate amount of sunlight. The condition of the vegetation will depend on the amount of sunshine they acquire. In this case, there is the need to propagate in an open environment for them to trap light. It can also be achieved through the uprooting of overcrowded vegetation on the farm. The remaining ones will be healthy.
