When a garden is created interiors, it is called an interior garden. An interior garden may create interiors of residential as well as commercial buildings. Florae with red, pink and orange flowers like amaryllis or chrysanthemum are most suitable florae for rooms with white or light colored background. Florae with bright colored foliage like coleus and caladium may also be suitable for decorating such rooms. White flowered florae are best for rooms with dark background while florae with variegated foliage like caladium may also create similar effect.

There are two common ways to grow indoor florae. The first would be florae-in-pot-with-soil. I made that up just to make it simple. The other one, thanks to technology, is hydroponics. Most varieties of house florae do need as much sunlight because they are bred to thrive in shade or indirect sunlight. The outdoor florae that you are now growing as indoor florae are going to need that extra light. West facing and south facing windows will supply the best light, but if your florae are not getting enough they will let you know by leaning toward the sunlight.

In regards to watering, you need to keep the soil in your containers moist, never wet. Once you learn about the needs of your specific florae you will find out when to water them. In general give them enough water so it starts to drain out the bottom; this helps remove extra fertilizer that is in the soil. After each soaking allow the soil to completely dry out before watering again.

An attractive display of interior florae may be created by keeping pots inside a red basket or beautiful metal. Size, Color and texture of the containers should harmonize with those of the florae and the setting of the room.
