4 Simple Dishes Made For Culinary Newcomers

By Bob Oliver

Depending on what it is you would like to make in the kitchen, your level of knowledge has to be able to accommodate the task. Those who learn at schools for cooking will find themselves met with a series of challenges but, of course, everyone has to start at some point. In order for one to sharpen his or her proverbial teeth in the way of cooking, there are quite a few recipes that can be undertaken. If you're curious about becoming cooking-savvy, here is a list of 4 surprisingly - and not so surprisingly - simple dishes to make.

1. Hamburgers, while perhaps not the finest dish on this list, is pretty simple to create. This is especially true for those who enjoy cooking as opposed to any other method, which is a point that will vary from student to student. You can become involved in grilling as well; it's just a matter of being patient and understanding how long to cook meat for. With a number of condiments and other additions that can be thrown in, there's a level of ease to consider with hamburgers.

2. Salad is another easy dish for beginners to get into. This is especially true for those who might not feel comfortable working with heat in order to create dishes at that point. There are a number of potential ingredients to keep in mind but, in my view, it is best to select the most organic properties possible, vegetables being the most prominent. Once these are tossed in along with your preferred dressings or even olive oil, your salad is ready for the table.

3. Omelets. One of the more favored breakfast foods that can be served, you may be shocked by how easily this can be created as well. It can be made in a matter of minutes and all of the ingredients can come together nicely. One of the best things about this particular dish is that it can be as basic or intricate as a cook would like. A simple cheese omelet is fine but for those who want more, in terms of ingredients, do not shy away from the meat or veggies.

4. If you want to take a more international route with your culinary practices, consider the idea of preparing fried rice. With your favored cooking oil in place, you will be able to utilize a frying pan in order to bring the best ingredients together, rice and vegetables being only a couple of examples to consider. There are different sauces to use and while soy sauce is more commonplace, oyster sauce can also be used in order to keep carbs and sodium counts lower. Regardless, try to prepare fried rice if you feel adventurous.
