Feels Like Home In Diaspora Support Services For Kenyans

By Jennifer Scott

People live to coexist. Race should never be an issue. Where you came from should not be the basis of your right to freedom. Or your access to the services that a government offers. But society does not think so. Especially if you are in a country vulnerable to having a dysfunctional immigration system. Not that you cannot make the most out of any situation.

That is the plight of the immigrant who seeks a better life. Or so he hopes to find in America, where he can also take advantage of diaspora support services for Kenyans. When you get off the plane, you try to take it all in. People find themselves looking at the statue of liberty, holding their dreams as high.

But then there are just so much about being a foreigner in America no less, that you have to deal with. People would love you, people will persecute you for sharing their resources. That is reality, and you have to face it. It is part of the challenge of building an American dream, as a Kenyan.

As long as you are determined to develop as an individual, they can support you in reaching your goals. Over the years, they have already changed lives of many Kenyans. Ideally, they are there for many different purposes in touching base with you when it comes to access in different services that the government at large, cannot immediately provide.

You would feel out of place, yes. Culture shock, you cannot avoid that, but hey, it gets better. Gone are the days when you feel inclined to go behind every line, just because of where you came from. Never feel inferior, when you know you can have access to the resources that the government provides for everyone.

You belong to another culture and because of that, some people unfortunately thinks you should not have the same benefits that they enjoy in this motherland. Do not be fazed, but face it as a challenge. DO not give up on thinking that it is possible to live and breathe freedom in a country like this.

These organizations may not be a one way ticket in achieving your dreams, but they have a common goal. And that is to make your life in the diaspora, easier. Ideally, they provide services, necessary for you to survive your first months or year as a foreigner there. Finding one, will not be a problem, because there are many to choose from.

The skills of foreigners and the contribution to the government, especially that Kenya can boast a lot when it comes to agriculture, is not unnoticed. People would recognize it. There would be growth where you least expect it. And any issues you may encounter will already be answerable because such communities already know how to support you.

You can choose from limitless options. These groups had spread like wildfire, proving to be a good force, in improving the economy of their home country, developing themselves in foreign land. Not only that, they also motivate their fellow countrymen there, to do the same.
