Being a chauffeur is one of those many luxury jobs where you get to drive an expensive car and earn a salary which is as high as an executives'. You then decided to become one. Therefore, what steps should you take to become a successful chauffeur?

Firstly, you will need to know that a chauffeur also does other things aside from driving expensive or luxury cars. They are knowledgeable about the city they work in. They think ahead of their clients and plan for their needs. They are ambassadors for their city and a tour guide.

To become a chauffeur, you start by learning your city thoroughly. Know where to go and how to get to the desired place by your boss. You know all the best routes and the landmarks along those routes. The best way to do that is to get out and discover your city. You will need to be able to read a map easily. Also, learn how to read and use a GPS.

Learn what makes a certain city famous or unique. You should be able to easily locate a certain landmark. What places would you recommend to visit. Why are they the favorite? What's the population of your city? Where do people usually eat. You should have a good list of recommendations. The weather is also something that you should keep track of. What is a normally do this time of the year? You can listen to forecasts from your radio. Finally one of the best hotels, and the stores nearby.

Dress is very important to chauffeur. A decent uniform is a simple indication that you are someone of high rank in the society who knows well what they are doing.

A lot of companies today require every one of their employees to have uniforms which include the chauffeurs. A chauffeurs' uniform usually involves the use of black shoes, tie, suit and white shirt. You want to make a fantastic first impression, and let the client know that you're serious, and you know what you're doing.

Try to notice the smallest things at work. Always maintain proper hygiene. If you want to put away your coat or suit whenever not being used, simply bring a hanger with you all the time. Don't smoke, as some people do not like that. Smoking is dangerous to the health not only to you but also to your clients.

Speaking or talking should also be kept to a minimum unless spoken to by your client or an officer. Your job is to respond to your client. As Stephen Covey used to say "seek to understand, then be understood".? By spending a good amount of time, you will then be able to know when it is time to chat with your client and when not to.

Be prepared for almost anything. There are those limousines designed with special features as well as compartments just for clients. There are those installed with entertainment showcases, sewing kits, mini bars and many more other features designed specially for clients. Aim to provide the best service as possible.

Of course, every professional should have his or her own tool for his or her job. Currently, there are a few apps on phones that you can simply use in your line of work. These apps include, gps, maps, event schedules as well as weather updates.
