Also, telling the truth can earn you admiration from your colleagues and it will help in building a more intimate relationship with your colleagues.

If you're a leader, people will follow you not because you told them to do so but because they see that you're a good example - you lead by example therefore you do what is expected of you. You need to be able to keep in mind to always do things for the betterment of others and not only for yourself and as you do this regularly, you'll be surprised to find out that it becomes a habit. Regardless if you're calling the shots or if you are a member of the staff you should always be doing what's good for others. As soon as you establish this practice or habit you'll instantly have people trusting you.

Be consistent

One more thing that is expected with you as a worker and especially as a leader is that you become consistent with everyone. You should treat everyone just like everyone else - no special treatment and no looking down on others. As a leader, you shouldn't have priorities regarding people to consider - give chance to others. People will immediately admire you if you have equal treatment for everyone at the workplace thus easily earning people's trust.

Motivate and help others

Supporting or helping others can likewise be a building block towards earning trust among your colleagues. Motivating and helping others will bring about their trust instantly as not many people are willing to spend time helping and supporting others. Being interested to help and support others would simply translate to your concern and care to others. Not only can you build trust if you help and support others, you also gain friends.
