Due to the delicate nature of the patients requiring this kind of treatment, the constant re-certification is a way of making sure that the nurses are always at their best. It is also a way of monitoring the nurses to ensure that they do their jobs with at most professionalism. In case a nurse administers wrong medication or is found practicing against the set standards, their certification is easily revoked. Therefore there is need for these programs to ensure at most professionalism.

For one to be fully prepared to practice, a period of seven to eight years is required to be spent in school and clinical practice. This is meant to ensure that the skills practiced in school are well applied in the actual practice of the profession. It is also meant to ensure that the nurses are well trained to avoid cases of malpractice. Also this ensures that the nurses have a clear and in depth knowledge on what to expect ones they begin to practice.
